In this installation, Asabea uses herself and other materials found in the environment of a Ghanaian woman to show case the heat moment as well as the appreciation of the woman. She poses herself in front of a sacrificial altar she created with well-arranged fire wood. Beneath the altar is a continues burning flame with smoke. On the altar she arranges different types of wearables worn mostly by the Ghanaian woman. Some of which are shoes, jewelry, dresses, cloths and headgears.

Dispensation of Time

The conceptual artwork – in this work Asabea’s portrays her childhood life. She sits in the position she normally finds herself working. She explores the semiotics of the elements found in her immediate environment and how she related to them. At age eight he found herself being the one who brings firewood from the farm, lights the morning fire, prepares food for the father, siblings and all family members who visit – this is represented by the local trypots - ‘mukyea’, the fire and the iron pot.

‘Birth’ makes a call to patriarchal communities, saying that; women are not only capable of giving birth but are also very capable of conceiving significant ideas that are needed for the development of a society.
